Our activities will depend on the age and exerience of the children.  Some examples of activities your child might experience are:

  • searching for and identifying insects, wildlife, leaves and trees

  • building homes for bugs

  • shelter building

  • creating land and nature art

  • hunting for signs of changes in the season

  • safe use of tools

  • the opportunity to plan their own learning

  • looking, listening and relaxing

Forest School improves physical, emotional and cognitive development through encouraging children to play and be active in the outdoors.  It is a wholesome, organic, child led way of learning and it is FUN!

Nature Links runs Forest School sessions in Whitton, The London Borough of Hounslow and the surrounding areas.  Find out about your local session here.

What will you need?

Adventure Clothes

There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes!  So the saying goes.

We adventure all year round in all weathers (except high winds and thunder and lightening).  Children love to copy adults so if you are planning on joining us you will need to wear long trousers, long sleeves and have safe shoes too! Our clothing list will give you lots more information about how to dress safely for your adventure.

Medical and Information Form

We ask for all your medical information for each child at the time of booking.  You will need to bring a completed form for any adults that attend and give it to the Leader at the start of your session.  Please ask for a form if you will be joining us.  If you are unable to print your form we will have spares for you.

Spare clothes

You might want to send your child with a little back pack containing spare clothes, hat, gloves, insect repellant etc.  just incase.  If you do please make sure it's small and light so they can carry it to Basecamp by themselves.
